(8): Moisture Content at a Monitoing Position
How can I get the moisture content at a monitoring position?
WUFI's output includes the temporal behavior of
- temperature and relative humidity at the monitoring positions, and of
- the mean moisture content of each layer.
In order to get the moisture content at a monitoring position, you can either
- calculate it from the relative humidity prevalent at that monitoring position by means of the moisture storage function, or
- insert a thin 'diagnostic' layer at the position in question which has the same material properties as the surrounding material. WUFI will output curves for the water contents of each layer, including a separate curve for the diagnostic layer. This is also a useful way to get the water content of, say, the outermost 5 cm of a layer.
